At te beginning, nothing happened, it was quiet. After a while, Jan caught a small salmon... Too small, we had to let it go :/ Michael had a pot to fish some prawns to use them as baits. We caught some, he ate one raw!! He said it's sweet... Well I had to try.. Hard for me to hang it so I just bit it.. Not too bad finally but lots of soft shell.. Ronan didn't try. Jason told us it's like a right of passage for Wyndham fisherman youhouuu!!
Around 7pm, time to go home. We started to pack our stuff:chairs, handlines, beers, crabpot.. Ronan had some trouble to pull it out of the water, it was really heavy, strange... Suddenly the rope went fast, Michael said that the croc must have the pot in its mouth!! (We fish with lamb necks...) After that, all was quick: Michael tried to pull out the pot, he burnt his hands, the croc came out with the pot in its mouth! We saw its whole head with the big teeth!! Just crazy and amazing at the same time!
After that he left, we saw him a bit further again. We tried to catch him again, but no luck :/ the pot is now totally fucked, the 2nd one by the way, but we kept it to fish the croc now!!
07/09 Today, we are going to El Questro! We asked Michael if he would like to join us so we all go together! With his really big 4x4!
The first thing to do is Zeebedee springs: hot springs with palm trees all around. The water is between 28-32 degrees. Outside it's maybe 30. It's really nice to swim here but it's a bit crowded. The thing is that they close the gate at noon so if you want to pay $3000 you can ne alone in the springs! Why not...
After that we went to check a walk (to go there we had nice water crossings!) but it was too long so we went to the station then to Emma Gorge. Here is a resort with a nice restaurant. We had lunch there, it was really really good! And to digest we went to Emma gorge, 2hour walk (return+swim). The walk was great, with high walls around us, small creeks, and after a while, kind of a rain forest. The smell was good, fresh. And we finally arrived at the "waterfall" (only few drops) but it was so beautiful !!! The water was colder than before but it's good after walking under the sun... :)
To end the day we stopped a bit before Wyndham to enjoy a beer at a lookout.
We had a really great day together! Next time Michael is at home, we have to do something again!!
Croc fishing trip maybe :p
